Andrew Smith
Andrew writes. “I am the Director of Youth Encounter for Scripture Union. This is a project that helps Christian young people live out their faith amongst their Muslim friends. We do this by running events that bring together Christian and Muslim young people and offer training on issues relating to Working with young people in multi-faith areas. Much of my time is currently spent speaking, training and writing on these issues. I am also chair of trustees for The Feast a charity formed in 2009 to develop the work of bringing Muslim and young people together in Birmingham.”

Jo Wakia
Jo Wakia is based in Nairobi, Kenya, working for Retrak - a charity enabling street children in Africa to have a real alternative to life on the streets.. Jo is involved in developing the work in Kenya, as well as working alongside the teams in Uganda and Ethiopia to help them improve their programmes through effective monitoring, evaluation and research. Jo's husband, Ken, works in cultural affairs in an embassy and they are both involved in the local classical music scene. They enjoy being part of the locally-focused Killeleshwa Covenant Community Church which is facing up to the challenges of urban life in Nairobi.

Ron and Nancy George
Ron and Nancy George serve with World In Need and their missions statement is “Changing attitudes through aid and education”. After 30 years overseas they came to the conclusion that there were people in every country that wanted to do their own mission work rather than be employees of western agencies. They lacked training, resources and networks and WIN was born. Today they work empowering people in some 20 nations. They have two sons, Nathan and Andrew and four grandchildren. Ron teaches Muslim Christian relations and Nancy runs the child sponsorship programmes
