TNT
tnt is a Christian youth group for the ages 14 upwards or yr.10 and above. We meet to learn about God, to pray to and praise God together in a fun and informal environment. tnt aims to make you feel welcome and relaxed. Fun is an important part of our times together, making it easy for friendships to form and grow so that we can support each other in our lives in and outside church. We believe that we are in a relationship with God through Jesus' death and feel the need to seek God more and tell others about Him.
Why luke is worth listening to:
Well, I guess a short answer is that his books (he wrote Acts as well) like all the others in the bible contain the very words of God.
But there are a few things that make him well worth listening to:
He tells us how he has gone about writing his biography of Jesus
Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. Luke 1 verses 1-4
Eyewitnesses - Luke got in touch with people who saw Jesus alive and asked them if the things that he had heard about Jesus were true. Pretty much like a news reporter would do today.
He is an eyewitness himself to some of the events that he records in Acts. (Read Acts 16:10-17 to see what I mean.)
To make us certain - Luke is up front about why he is writing. He wants Christians to be certain about the God-man Jesus.
I'm looking forward to this term spent looking at Luke.
Is your God too small? This sunday we looked at Luke 1:26-36 and saw that Nothing was impossible with God. Enjoy being encouraged by this guy's passion, and the size of this man's God.
