At St. Richard’s, Kevin Cherry

Kevin Cherry is also responsible for our Ministry to Men for All Saints and St Richard’s. Its purpose is to encourage all men to realise their God-given potential, to glorify Him in their families, relationships, work and personal ministry, and to increase the involvement and effectiveness of men as leaders in our churches. Practically this means providing pastoral care, teaching and guidance through existing men’s ministries and new opportunities. Please contact Kevin if you have any pastoral needs or questions. 613174
Having earwiged a few conversations recently I feel the need to offer us Christian men an alternative to our traditional approach of pitting our wits against those of our non-Christian friends. Intellectually I think we all know we will never argue anyone into the Kingdom but that doesn't seem to stop us trying.

The Men’s Study and Discussion Group tries to meet the needs of men at different stages of their quest to understand more closely God’s word and purpose. Some are right at the beginning of their search; others have been Christians for a number of years. Sometimes we pursue a particular theme for two or three meetings, but more usually we respond to the more immediate questions that our members would like to explore.

Crowborough Men’s Breakfast is where Christian men and their ‘not yet Christian’ friends meet every two months to listen to invited Christian speakers talk about their lives, their work and their faith.
There are 250 on the group’s mailing list and usually about 80 men meet for fellowship and a full English breakfast at the Barnsgate Manor Vineyard. There is a charge of seven pounds per person. Kevin Cherry welcomes enquiries on 613174

Five-a-Side Football is an informal gathering of men in their 20s to 40s who meet on Monday evenings in the main Sports Hall of Beacon Community College throughout the year (except for school holidays) between 8.30 and 10.00. Its main objective is to establish links between men who enjoy sport, like some regular exercise and have an interest in the Christian faith. No previous knowledge, Christian belief or sporting ability is required. Occasional social evenings such as an Indian meal or go-karting are also arranged.

The Men’s Bible Study Group meets twice monthly on Tuesdays at 10.30am, from September
to May to hear God speak to us in His Word and to pray together.
